Connection to Lamar: Lamar University Alumnus

Maintains an active interest in Lamar University; currently serves on the Board of Advisors to the College of Business and is a past Chairman of the group. 

Honors or Awards: Lamar University honored Mr. Hallmark with the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2002.

He was also crowned King of the Neches River Festival, won the T. Kelsey Lamb, Sr. Award for Business Ethics from the Beaumont Rotary Club, and was Olympic Torchbearer in Beaumont in 1996.

Affiliations: Mr. Hallmark served in many positions of increasing responsibility including loan officer, manager of bank credit card department, Manager and Senior Loan Officer in Commercial Lending, President, and finally, Chairman and CEO.

Known For: He is very proud of having been a member of the search committee that recommended the hire of Dr. Jimmy Simmons as President of Lamar University. Mr. Hallmark was a Regent for the Texas State University System and was a member of the Committee for the recently concluded and very successful "Investing in the Future" campaign at Lamar University. He established the Dan S. Hallmark Endowment in Business.
