MEET THE FACULTY

Letter From Your Department Chair

Dr. Kabir C. SenOn behalf of the Management and Marketing Department faculty and staff, I would like to welcome you to our department. Our department offers three degrees: a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Human Resource Management (HR), a BBA in Management (MGMT) and a BBA in Marketing (MKTG).

Human Resource majors take a combination of classes that cover psychological testing, organizational behavior, compensation management and employment law. These classes prepare students for the tasks involved in the selection and training of various personnel in large or small organizations.

Management majors take classes in cost accounting as well as organizational behavior, project management and marketing management. Students are expected to get a broad perspective of the challenges involved in managing an organization.

Classes for marketing majors cover consumer behavior, international marketing, e-marketing, marketing promotions and marketing research. Various aspects of the interactions with both business and consumer markets and the new challenges of using social media are covered in these classes.

Two important factors distinguish the classes offered by our department. First, many of our classes involve working with real life business organizations on different projects. This gives students opportunities to gain experience in the business world and help the community. Second, some of the classes in management and marketing required students to acquire knowledge of software programs that allows them to acquire skills in areas such as managing projects and analyzing data.

Students in our department have an opportunity to participate in various student organizations that are related to their discipline. On graduation, majors in all three disciplines have been gainfully employed in companies, like Enterprise Rental Car, HEB, Chase Bank, T Mobile, Verizon and Wells Fargo Bank.

Sincerely,

Kabir C. Sen, Ph.D.

Chair and Professor of Marketing
